My focus is on individuality. Every athlete learns differently, so I build personalized
development plans instead of trying to replicate the style of other players. When an athlete
understands their own identity on court, their confidence and progress accelerate naturally.

How did your career evolve after retiring from ATP competition, and how do you balance coaching and leadership roles?

Coaching was the most natural direction for me after retirement — tennis has always been my
life. I began working with young Serbian players and gradually took on roles with the national
team and professional players.
Balancing coaching with leadership responsibilities means staying close to the sport while
helping others grow. I enjoy mentoring both players and coaches.

From Davis Cup to ATP Tour coaching — what are the key advantages, challenges, and lessons?

Coaching at the Davis Cup and on the ATP Tour is intense, fast-paced, and incredibly
rewarding. You’re surrounded by world-class athletes, and every decision matters.
The biggest advantage is being part of a high-performance environment. The challenge,
however, is the constant pressure — expectations are high, travel schedules are demanding,
and results matter every week. But these experiences teach discipline, teamwork, and
resilience. Those lessons shape the way I now mentor athletes and coaches.

You were part of Novak Djokovic’s team at the Olympic Games. What was that experience like?

The Olympics are unlike anything else. You’re competing for your country, not for ranking
points or prize money. Working with Novak was inspiring — his intensity, professionalism, and
focus are unmatched.
Being part of that environment reminded me how powerful passion and national pride can be.

What is your coaching philosophy when working with developing players and professionals?

My philosophy is based on discipline, motivation, and self-understanding. I want players to
know why they train, not just follow instructions.
My goal is to develop independent athletes: players who can think strategically, handle
pressure, and adapt during a match. Real success comes from dedication and long-term
consistency.

What advice would you give coaches who want to work internationally and build a career in tennis?

Be open to new cultures, experiences, and challenges. Tennis coaching is now global, and
international experience is highly valued.
Stay certified, invest in relationships, and use digital platforms to expand your visibility.
Many regions — especially across Europe and the Middle East — have a growing demand for
qualified coaches. Networking and professionalism make all the difference when pursuing
international tennis coaching opportunities.

What are your favorite sports outside tennis?

I love staying active and challenging myself through different sports. Padel are one of my
favorites, as they combine teamwork, intensity, and strategy, which I’ve always enjoyed. I
also really enjoy padel clubs — it’s a fast-growing sport with a great social and competitive
dynamic that makes it both fun and engaging.

In addition, I regularly do fitness training to maintain strength, mobility, and overall wellbeing. Staying active through different sports keeps me energized, motivated, and
connected to the competitive spirit I’ve always had, even outside of tennis.
